Touring Truss PR 1

Being a professional in the event industry means to be able to move, set up and pack back the show equipment as fast as possible with minimum effort and labor. That is why decades ago first pre rig trusses, also called touring or container trusses, were developed.

We are currently carrying two versions of pre rig truss in our portfolio. Let’s take a look at the PR1 type a bit closely. The definition of touring truss lies in its application. It is a fixed truss from aluminum pipes of rectangular shape with one side open and specific bracing that is able to carry lighting or sound equipment without the necessity to remove the equipment after each installation. Individual pieces of pre rig are possible to connect into longer truss spans and in most cases it is also possible to create various structural shapes with them.

PR1 is made of 48 x 4.5 mm (1.89 x 0.18 inch) main tubes and its bracing is 25 x 3 mm (0.98 x 0.12 inch) which makes it strong enough for heavy duty equipment loading. There is couple of features worth mentioning.

First, the PR1 touring truss is equipped with turning fork connections on both sides that enable you to interconnect the individual pieces either in horizontal or vertical way. There are two fork connectors positions pre-drilled at the truss in 90°. In addition to that the fork connector and special TAF pre rig truss adapters make it possible to create different angles between individual pieces and thus create different structural designs with them.

Second, the very important part of any touring truss is the dolly. Our PR1 dollies (PR1-D) are designed to be easily connected and removed from the truss itself. Once the pre rig truss is mounted on the dolly it is very comfortable and fast to fix the show equipment (lighting or sound or both) to the structure and move it around as needed.

Third, the equipped trusses on dollies can be stacked easily on top of each other. This feature saves space and labor time while loading and unloading the show rig in and from trucks. The equipped trusses on dollies can be also attached to each other in a comfortable working height and rigged properly to the main structure. Then thanks to simply removing the dolly pins from the truss the complete design of interconnected pre rig trusses can be lifted at once leaving the dollies on the ground and moving the equipment to the planned height.
