Warehouse Conrol System
There are hundreds of items that we produce and offer our clients every day and in order to be able to do that we have to cope with large number of parts and items that come and go through our factory. There are thousands of items that are used in the manufacturing processes of all of our products and many products that need to be stored and available for immediate shipment to customers.
As the company has been growing every year we are trying to improve our services regularly. That is why we decided to change our warehouse management strategy this year and introduced a new warehouse control system for more precise, effective and faster material handling.
As new items arrive to our factory there are several procedural steps that have to be taken in order to make each article accounted for and ready for our production line. New material is sorted based on its use into proper categories. Every delivery is checked for any flaws or imperfections. Then, based on its nature, it is moved to a proper place in the warehouse for storage and given barcode to which the shipping papers and material attests are loaded. The barcodes also contain information about the place of the article in our warehouse for faster and easier location of the article when needed.
The storage guys use Zebra PDA terminals to store and later find the necessary articles for current manufacturing process. We also have a weight management system integrated in the software so there is no possibility of overloading any storage shelf, which consequently makes the warehouse area a safer place to work in. The software not only tells the warehouse workers where certain article can be found in the warehouse but it also shows them the fastest way to get to it. The PDA terminals are subsequently used in the manufacturing process for random check of used materials.
Overall, technology moves forward and we have to follow as fast as we can. As you can see there are many advantages in the new warehouse control system. It is another step for better service and quality of products that we proudly offer to our customers on daily basis.
